Focusing on modularity and responsible materials

Concept generation, modelling and development of a modular and versatile in-store corner, promoting sustainability, that can be scaled up, implemented and built, at a European level, in stores of all sizes, shapes and needs with materials that can be re-used or recycled at the conclusion of this brand activation.

The North Face, a renowned outdoor apparel brand with a strong commitment to sustainability, partnered with Circular to create an innovative retail display designed specifically for "The North Face Renewed Take-Back" program, an initiative focused on collecting and recycling used clothing.

Our approach was to develop a retail application reflecting the brand's principal objectives: attract, engage and connect. “Attracting” through an eye-catching display, giving the public a first overview of the initiative; “engaging”, by calling people to interact directly through the recycling corners; and connecting, educating and informing the community with initiatives designed specifically to raise awareness.

The project encompassed 3D modelling, concept generation, and development of the final product, alongside a coherent graphic identity designed and applied to all supports. We designed base modules to adapt to the space available and be easy to ship, move and install.

We strategically chose aluminum and condensed recycled plastic as the primary materials, both to align with sustainability goals, as well as, create durable and visually appealing retail displays.

Launched first in London and Berlin, the project's main challenge was to craft a versatile, impactful, yet simple design adaptable to various store layouts, while strategically considering potential future needs and solutions.
